Transfer Credit

MIT Department of Economics Transfer Credit Policy

Outside MIT credit must be pre-approved except for transfer students.

To receive credit the grade in the course must be B or better.

14.01 and 14.02 credit will not be given for introductory economics courses taken elsewhere. HASS elective credit will be given instead. The amount of credit will depend on the quality of the class and the grade.

14.01 and 14.02 credit may be given for intermediate-level micro- and macroeconomics courses taken elsewhere.

Only one non-MIT subject is allowed for majors, minors, and concentrators.

Concentrators must take 14.01 and 14.02 at MIT.

Exceptions may be granted for study abroad by economics majors.

Transfer Credit Examiner for 2011-2012 is Professor Jeffrey Harris (Jeffrey@mit.edu).
