David Autor, Ford Professor of Economics, is one of seven winners of a 2026 Teaching with Digital Technology Award from the Institute. Awardees are recognized by students for their outstanding use of technology to improve learning. Autor's student nominators highlighted his thoughtful approach in the classroom, with one noting "As an individual, Professor Autor is incredibly kind, nonjudgmental, and funny. He also has excellent intuition for when to use the Socratic method and when to simply explain concepts directly."
The Teaching with Digital Technology Awards are co-sponsored by MIT Open Learning and the Division of Graduate and Undergraduate Education. Autor and his fellow nominees were honored at the Institute's 2026 Festival of Learning in January.
